But during the exam only, I studied for 10-12 hours. I never took studying as stress but instead took it as fun,” Sambit told News18.com.

He wants to become a software engineer in the future. Apart from studies, Sambit likes playing the guitar, painting, and chess. He himself used to play chess with his tab on the online platform if he did not find anyone, he said. Sambit’s family is naturally happy with the news of this great result. Hi’s father said, “I knew that Sambit would get good results. He would get very good results but I didn’t expect to be the first in All India.” He also added that Sambit used to play chess more than studies. He also loves watching cricket, his favourite food is Biryani.

Besides studying in school, he used to study under seven additional coaching teachers. He used to study in batches. All of Sambit’s teachers, friends, and family are happy with this success. A student of the school has become the first in the country. School Principal Father Maria Savariappan SJ is happy with this news.

He said, “Sambit Mukherjee has ranked first in the country. We are very happy. He got 99.8 percent marks. Besides, two more students Anish Dutta and Aritra Bose secured 99.2 percent marks and jointly stood fourth in the country. The real reason for their success was that all of them attended regular schools.

Besides, he followed school studies with attention.”

She scored 98 in English, 100 each in maths and environment, 99 in social studies, 98 each in Hindi and Punjabi and 97 in science.

“I am now pursuing non-medical and want to be a researcher,” said Gupta, who is also a national-level swimmer and state-level table tennis player. She is also an orator. In Class 12, Sagarika Khosla was the highest scorer in Ludhiana district with 98.25 percent in non-medical stream.

A student of Sacred Heart Convent School, Chandigarh road (Jamalpur), she scored 99 in maths, 98 in physics, 96 in English, 94 in chemistry and 100 in physical education. “I aim to be a data scientist and work with Google, I am currently aiming to take admission in Thapar Institute of Engineering, Patiala for computer science engineering,” she said.

Her father Gautam Khosla is a businessman and mother Sabina is a homemaker. “I would suggest other students to thoroughly solve question papers of previous years and take help of ICSE handbooks for board exams preparation. I took extra coaching for physics and chemistry,” she said.

  • In other streams for class 12, Gurmehak Bedi in medical with 98.25%, Rashita Pahwa in commerce with 98% and Radhika in humanities with 98.25%, were the highest scorers.
  • All three are from Sat Paul Mittal School, Dugri.
  • In Jalandhar, Pawani the top scorer Pawani Kundra, a student of St Joseph Convent Girl’s High school topped the district in Class 10 scoring 99 per cent marks.

She scored 100 each in social science and Punjabi, and 99 each in mathematics and science. Her mother is a government lecturer of English and father is a DGM in a private company. Pawani said that she used to study 4 to 5 hours daily after school and never took any tuitions.
